Doom 2 came out 10 months after Doom 1 and us all at the time considered it nothing more than an expansion pack yet priced as a full priced game. If you had a content pack downloaded from the internet you were flat out of luck if you didn’t have the “support” version of the game. Base Duke3D was £29.99 and the one with The Birth content was 35. The extra content wasn’t sold separately and you’d have to pay more. One added support for new content and one added new content.
